MATCH PREVIEW | Rhinos Women look to book Cup quarter final spot this Saturday

Off the back of their convincing win over Leigh Leopards, Leeds Rhinos Women can book their place in the knockout rounds of the Betfred Challenge Cup when Lois Forsell's side come up against Sheffield Eagles on Saturday afternoon at the Olympic Park Legacy Stadium, kick off 12.30pm.
The Rhinos head south for their first away trip of the year knowing that a win takes the side into the quarter finals and a step closer to a third Wembley appearance. A new opponents stands in their way though as the Eagles, who made their debut in the competition last year, take on Leeds for the first time in history.

Championship side Sheffield Eagles enters their second Betfred Challenge Cup campaign in 2025 as the club continues to grow from strength to strength.
Sheffield launched its Women's side in 2021, following the Covid-19 pandemic, and entered the Rugby Football League in League One for the 2022 season. Their inaugural campaign was a huge success as they won 12 out of 13 matches that year and secured promotion to the Championship with a 26-6 win over Illingworth.
The last two seasons has seen the club compete in the second tier of the Women's competition, kicking off with a fifth-place finish in 2023 before progressing to finish second last year. The side competed with Leigh Leopards down to the final game of the season, where Leigh got the better of the Eagles in the Championship Grand Final in a 46-6 result to move into the Betfred Women's Super League for 2025. Last year also saw the club debut in the Challenge Cup as they lost out to both York Valkyrie and Featherstone Rovers in the group stages, but a win this weekend or against Leigh on 20th April could be enough to see the side through to the quarter finals of this year's competiton.
